The Methodology of The Saved Sect The subject matter of this book calls the Muslims to the Belief (aqeedah) of Tawheed, pure and completely free of Shirk, the manifestations of which have spread in most of the Islamic countries. Shirk is the reason for the destruction of the previous nations and the reason for the mersey and suffering of the contemporary world, especially the Islamic world and what has befallen it from the trials and calamitres. The author examines in fascinating detail the discrepancies between dates in assorted calenders - the intercalated pre-islamic, the Hijri, and the Julian calenders - and the days of the week ascribed to different events in the sirah of the Prophet (saw). Imam ash-Shawkani (1173H - 1250H), may Allah have mercy upon him, had a modest upbringing upon virtue, good, and righteousness. He was continually well nurtured and treated. He memorized many books of present time at the very early age even before beginning his serious studies. He learned the sciences of Hadith from al-Hafiz Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Amir and studied with many other teachers until he covered all the sciences. Both his supporters and opponents agreed that Imam ash-Shawkani reached a level of verifying scholarship. He became someone who all would point to as a reference in the sciences of ijtihad, and he was one who would clarify the subtleties of the Shriah. The Day of Judgment in sure to come, but when it will be, it is a matter known only to Allah the Great. But the Prophet Muhammad (S) has told us about some signs that indicate that the Day is coming nearer and nearer. Such signs are of three types: The first type of signs have already come to pass. The second type of signs are those that appear gradually with the passage of time. The third type is of the signs that appear just very near to the Day- these are called the Greater Signs of the Day. In this book we have dealt with the first two types of the signs that are known to be the Smaller Signs of the Day.
